Digital Commons Journals OverviewDigital Commons Journals Overview
A Complete Journal Platform
Digital Commons Journals combine submission management and peer-review software with an engaging online publishing interface, excellent discoverability, and robust metrics. The platform helps editors and institutions improve the visibility and impact of their journals to build world-class open access publishing programs.
Journal publishing is available on the following types of Digital Commons sites:
- Institutional Repository: A DCIR license includes unlimited standard journals, which are managed by repository administrators in partnership with editors.
- Single Journal: This type of standalone Digital Commons journal site provides a highly visible showcase for one journal and is usually run by editors.
- Multi-Journal Site: This is very similar to standard journals in a repository, except the site is exclusively focused on journals.
Digital Commons Publishing Services (DCPS) may be added to any of the above journal types.
What’s Included
Because every journal has unique needs, Digital Commons journals are built with flexible options that can support journals at any stage of their publishing journey. Every journal includes all the tools needed to create a professional publishing program.
For journals ready to take the next step, we offer tiered upgrade options for additional publishing services to support professionalization and journal improvement. The four Digital Commons Publishing Services (DCPS) upgrade options are: Professional; Professional+ Typesetting; Professional+ Editorial Manager; and Premier.
Details about what’s included in each Digital Commons Journals tier are included in the table below:
