How Can We Help?
Expert Gallery Suite Retirement: FAQsExpert Gallery Suite Retirement: FAQs
Summary: Expert Gallery Suite will be retired December 31, 2024. This includes the modules SelectedWorks, the Impact Dashboard, and the Expert Galleries. All pages and metrics will be permanently removed. If you would like a copy, it is very important that you save your content and any data in advance.
For more than 20 years, SelectedWorks profiles have been used by scholars to make their research available to a worldwide audience. However, we’ve recently made the strategic decision to focus more of our resources on supporting scholars via their institutions through the Digital Commons suite.
We are very grateful to you for your support of this service, and we wish to provide you with support during this transition. If you have a question not answered below, please contact sw-support@elsevier.com.
For Authors with Institutional Accounts
If your SelectedWorks profile displays your institutional logo, your account is provided by your institution. Please refer to your institutional administrator for local guidance.
For Authors without Institutional Accounts
How do I know whether I have an Institutional Account?
If your SelectedWorks profile does not display your institutional logo, your account is a free profile, not an Institutional Account.
What do I need to do before December 2024?
If you would like to retain a copy, we recommend that you
- Log in at https://works.bepress.com/profile/
- Save a copy of your content, either importing into a compatible reference manager (e.g., Zotero) or manually adding to a compatible storage solution (e.g., your device or cloud storage account)
- Visit your Author Dashboard and save any metrics you would like to retain
- Update your email signature and any other locations that link to your SelectedWorks
For additional support with the above, see SelectedWorks Guide for Authors.
What will happen after December 2024?
See What will happen after December 2024? below.
For Current Institutional Administrators
How do I know whether I am currently an institutional administrator?
Institutional administrators have access to all SelectedWorks profiles associated with their institution when they log in at https://works.bepress.com/login.
What do I need to do before December 2024?
- Select one of our alternative platform recommendations (if desired) in time to ensure a smooth transition – additional instructions will follow based on your selection
- Notify authors of the changes and their steps, if any, to prepare
- Save a copy of content, profiles, and metrics that you would like to retain
- Our Consulting Services team can provide an export of your articles. Please contact sw-support@elsevier.com before December 2024.
- Update any locations that link to your Expert Galleries or SelectedWorks profiles
If you are also a Digital Commons subscriber, you have additional options:
- If a SW profile hosts content not in your DC, you may import the metadata into your Digital Commons (you may also manually add the PDF)
- If your Digital Commons hosts links to SelectedWorks content that you do not wish to import, you may revise in Digital Commons to either update or remove the links as needed
- If you would like to obtain a report, listing the records in Digital Commons that link to SelectedWorks, see Content Reporting Tool
- If your Digital Commons is enabled with bepress Archive, you may opt to send a copy of articles on SelectedWorks to your bepress Archive
What will happen after December 2024?
All pages and metrics will be permanently removed, and we will be unable to provide any assistance regarding Expert Gallery Suite. If you would like to create a copy, it is very important that you save your content and any data in advance.
